Where is Belizean Shores Resort?

Belizean Shores Resort is located on the island of Ambergris Caye in Belize, Central America. Ambergris Caye is the largest of many islands in Belize and is Belize’s most popular tourist destination. San Pedro is the only town on the island. Belizean Shores is located just 3.5 miles north of San Pedro town, away from the hustle and bustle, but still easily accessible via golf cart, bicycle or land taxi.

How do I get to Belizean Shores Resort?

The first step is to get to Belize.  Belize’s International Airport is named Philip Goldson International Airport, code (BZE). Airlines that service BZE include: American, Avianca, Delta, United, TACA, Southwest, COPA and Tropic Air.

Guests arriving to Belize must transfer via regional flight to the island of Ambergris Caye, a scenic 17-minute journey that will take you over Belize’s Barrier Reef. Maya Island Air is Belize’s leading, domestic, commercial passenger airline offering Air Travel, Tours, Charters and Freight Services. They operate daily, scheduled flights to several destinations including San Pedro, Dangriga and Placencia. The island’s airstrip is located in San Pedro Town. We are pleased to arrange your regional flight and booking information listed below.

Flight charges per person are as follows:

  • Children 23 months and younger will be charged a rider’s fee only at the time of check-in

Once you land in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, our representative will meet you and will send you up to our property on the next available transfer. There is a surcharge of US$30 per person for round-trip transportation from San Pedro Town to Belizean Shores Resort, arrival and departure transfers leave once per hour.

Please note: Should you decide to make your own transfer arrangements between Belize City and San Pedro, you must provide the details to our office no later than 72 hours prior to your arrival in order to be included on our transfer schedule between San Pedro Town and our property, failure to do so may result in non-availability of transfer service.

During my stay, how can I travel to/from San Pedro town?

During the day between the hours of 8am and 5pm, guests can rent a bicycle at the Front Desk. The cost is US$5 per day.

Golf Carts are also a great way to explore the island and can be rented onsite or arranged in advance of your arrival. Please email us at [email protected] to request golf cart information and rates.

Please note during times of high occupancy such as Easter and Christmas, pre-bookings are strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.

What’s included with my stay?

What should I pack?

Life on the island is casual and relaxed, so you should pack comfortable clothing and you may wish to pack your own dive gear. Insect repellent and sunscreen are a must along with any medications and personal items such as eyeglasses, contact lenses and contact lens solution. A flashlight and light rain jacket can come in handy when Mother Nature strikes.

Are there any taxes or fees associated when leaving Belize?

When departing from Belize, the departure tax might already be covered within your airfare. We advise travelers to verify whether the mandatory departure tax is integrated into their airfare. If not included, this tax will need to be settled before exiting the country. To get accurate information, it’s best to check directly with your airline.
