The only international airport in Belize is on the mainland, in Belize City. It is one of the world’s smallest international airports, in fact! This makes it a snap to transfer on to a regional flight to Ambergris Caye. Local air provider Tropic Air offers service to the island, where the airstrip is located in the heart of San Pedro Town. The flight is less than 20 minutes and allows for spectacular views of the Belize Barrier Reef and many of the cayes.
To make this transfer as smooth as possible, most guests choose to have us make these arrangements and post the charges to their resort account for payment upon booking. To have us book your regional flight, please forward your international itinerary and full names, and we will respond within 48 hours with your flight confirmation and instructions.
All Sandy Point Resorts offer arrival and departure transfers between the resorts and San Pedro Town Via Resort Shuttle. There is a surcharge per person for round-trip transportation from San Pedro Town. Arrival details must be confirmed 72 hours in advance. If any changes to your travel logistics are needed after your arrival, please visit our Guest Services Concierge at your resort to make any needed updates.
All of our resorts are located in the Northern part of lovely Ambergris Caye. Our representative will meet you at the airport in San Pedro after you have collected your luggage and will provide a taxi service to our dock in town. There is one more final leg to travel, which is done via a motorboat. Depending on the resort you have chosen, the boat transfer is 10-25 minutes from the Sandy Point Resorts dock in San Pedro Town to your resort.
