 Q. How do I get to Ambergris Caye?

A. International travelers will be flying into the Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City on the mainland.  After which, the adventure continues via a scenic 17-minute regional flight to the island’s only airstrip located in San Pedro town. Q. How do I book my regional flights?

A. Most guests have us make these arrangements and post the charges to their resort account for payment upon departure. For more information, contact your resort’s Guest Services Concierge.

Q. What are the policies for the local flight?

All reservations must be ticketed in advance of 24 hours to the flight time. Accepted forms of authorization to ticket an Accounts Receivable reservation is by purchase order, email to [email protected] or by booking directly through the Agent portal on our website. Any reservation not ticketed the day before flight date will be automatically purged from our system.

No refund or credit for tickets canceled within 24 hours of flight time or for No Show passengers. No Show tickets are considered null and void, no exception. The full ticket becomes due and payable once the passenger commences service with Maya Island Air. Unused portions of tickets are non-refundable. Once the travel date has commenced, ticket becomes usable for that day only and expires at the end of the day. Tickets are not usable for a future date of travel.

Changes are allowed in advance of 3 hours of the flight time, for same date of travel usage only. Changes made within 3 hours of the flight time will follow our cancellation policy.

Q. What if I plan on making my own way to Ambergris Caye or am transferring from another hotel on the island?

A. That’s fine; however we ask that you kindly contact your respective resort at least 72 hours prior to your arrival date so we can coordinate your transfer from town to your resort.

Q. I would love to get married in Belize! How do I get started planning my destination wedding at a Sandy Point Resort?

A. The first step to booking your wedding is by contacting our wedding coordinator via phone call at 1.844.360.1553 to check wedding date availability and to go over your wedding details. Once your wedding date is available, you being the bride and groom will be required to book your room through the reservations department([email protected]). After confirming your room reservation, we will send you our wedding Contract and Credit Card Form to guarantee your Wedding Date. Planning your special Day starts right after your Wedding Package is paid in full. A Banquet Event Order which details the ceremony, reception and any other events will be sent to you approximately 30 days prior to your wedding date for your approval.

Q. Are hairdryers provided?

A. Yes, hairdryers and toiletries are provided in all units

Q. Are their pantry staples provided in the rooms?

A. All units are stocked with coffee, tea, sugar and coffee creamer.

Q.We want to document our trip, can we bring our drone?

A. At present, there is a moratorium that prohibits the temporary importation of drones in place by Belize’s Department of Civil Aviation.

Q.I'm traveling with children. Are any special travel documents needed?

A. When traveling with children under the age of 18, please note the following.  If the child will be traveling with only one parent or guardian, a notarized letter of consent must be provided by the other parent.  Children also need a valid passport for international travel.

Q. Are arrival and departure transfers included with my booking?

A.There is a surcharge of US $30 per person for round-trip transportation from San Pedro Town to our northern resorts: Belizean Cove Estates, Coco Beach Resort, Belizean Shores Resort, and X’tan Ha Resort.

Q. Can I bring my pet?
A. For the safety and comfort of all of our guests, pets are not allowed.

Q. Are there any fees when leaving Belize?

A. For all visitors, there is an exit fee when departing the country of Belize. This fee may be included in your airfare, so it is worth checking to see whether it has already been paid along with your airfare. If not, it is payable in cash at the international airport. The total exit fee is US$55.50.
