Included are some of the can’t-miss highlights of any Ambergris Caye vacation, romantic touches and insider secrets. Costa Blu Adults Only Beach Resort is the ideal backdrop for your honeymoon. Day 1
When you land at the Philip Goldson International Airport in Belize City (airport code BZE) your pre-arranged local flight on Maya Island Air to the island’s only airstrip in Belize City is just a short walk from the arrivals gate. An agent will meet you and escort you to the waiting plane for your 17-minute flight to paradise. Upon arrival at Ambergris Caye, a Sandy Point Resorts representative will greet you and transfer you to our dock in San Pedro Town for the next available resort transfer. Enjoy a tropical cocktail during check-in. Your suite is waiting!
Day 2
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the patio of Blu Restaurant and take in the views of the Caribbean Sea. A half-day snorkeling excursion to Mexico Rocks right in front of the resort will get you feeling all the vacation vibes. The colorful fish, boulder coral formations and even a passing sea turtle are highlights of this snorkel site. Return to the resort for lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing in a hammock, soaking by the pool and mingling with other guests around the pool bar.
Day 3
Rent a golf cart at the front desk and spend the day exploring the island. The drive into San Pedro Town takes about 40 minutes and can be broken up by stopping at any of the bars and restaurants along the way. You can take this opportunity to stock up on snacks or extra drinks at the larger grocery stores. Local artisans selling their wares can be found at the craft market on Back Street and there are many gift shops in town as well. A drive to the lee side of the island to check out Secret Beach and its sandy-bottomed calm shoreline is another fun way to spend the day. For a handy map of the island, click here.
Day 4
Soak up the Caribbean out on the Belize Barrier Reef on a catamaran day sail. Combine it with more snorkeling, take a side fishing trip or just enjoy the sea breezes and a rum punch from the bow. Dolphins, sea turtles and even a manatee can be lucky sightings. Trips include snorkel or fishing gear, freshly made ceviche, water, soda, beer, and rum punch. When you return in the afternoon, freshen up with a shower before deciding which of the island’s fabulous restaurants you’d like to dine this evening. Check with the front desk for recommendations, some northern restaurants offer complimentary boat pick up with dinner reservations.
Day 5
Take today to relax and enjoy a last romantic day in Belize. Plan a couple’s massage on the beach with our mobile spa partner and set the tone for total relaxation. Take a walk along the beach or find your favorite spot along the resort’s shoreline under a beach umbrella with everything you need to enjoy your day. Cap off your last night with a romantic dinner for two under the stars. Blu Restaurant will set up a special table on the beach with twinkle lights, candles, and your favorite entrées.
Day 6
Departure day. Try not to think too hard about heading back home. Enjoy the last hours on the island with coffee on your veranda and reminisce about all of the fun, adventures, and romance you’ve shared. Our resort transportation will take you into San Pedro Town in time to catch your local flight back to the International Airport.
