Belize Marriage Requirements
Your marriage in Belize is legally recognized worldwide, including in the US and Canada, with ceremonies conducted in English, and we handle the legal registration of your marriage license. Once you receive your marriage license, no further registration is needed in your home country.
General Requirements
- Complete application for a marriage license, notarized by a Justice of the Peace.
- Passport photo page and visa page showing date of arrival in Belize (photocopy accepted).

- Wedding couple must be in Belize for 3 business days before applying for a marriage license.
- Expedited license option available for a additional US$225 Government’s Fee if 3-day requirement cannot be met.

Begin with our comprehensive basic wedding package, designed to provide a beautiful foundation for your special day. From here, you can add additional services to enhance your wedding experience.
- Officiator: Justice of the Peace Wedding Officiator included (ministers available upon request for an additional charge).
- Wedding Planner: Services of an on-site wedding planner to ensure every detail is perfect.
- Guest Seating: Seating for 51-100 guests at the wedding ceremony, including white chair covers and tiebacks.
- Celebratory Touches: Bottle of Champagne and a 10” single-tier wedding cake.
- Marriage License Processing: Includes paperwork and processing (additional charge for expedited service if wedding is outside the required three-day stay).

How far in advance should we book our destination wedding at Belizean Cove Estates?
We recommend booking your wedding 9 to 12 months in advance to secure your preferred date and give guests ample time to plan. However, we’re happy to accommodate shorter timeframes based on availability.
Can we customize our wedding package?
Our wedding packages are à la carte, allowing you to choose your own décor, services, and special touches—like your wedding cake or floral arrangements—for both the ceremony and reception.
